An artist with a degree in drawing & painting, I have exhibited extensively. My work is in the collections of museums, universities & in private collections from Los Angeles to NYC, in Lithuania & Greece, Atlanta, New Orleans & Boston.
I exhibited at the Heath Gallery in Atlanta in the 1970s & showed paintings & drawings in various juried shows in the southeast US in the 1970s and 80s. In the 1980s & for a decade later I focused on playwriting & theatre. I co-founded an off-off-Broadway company in Providence, R.I.; later I wrote several books that were released in both hardback and paperback in successive editions (& which are still in print).
Yet my original compulsion to make visual art eventually subsumed all of these other interests. I began painting again; I revisited etching, as it was one of my initial passions. My new work was shown at Agios Ioannis in Mykonos, Greece in 2005. A painting was accepted in 2007 in the Viridian Artists 16th National Juried Exhibition in Chelsea, NYC, N.Y. I exhibited work in the 2008 show ‘Places’ at the DeCordova Museum, Lincoln, Mass. Both the Danforth Museum (Framingham, Mass.) & the DeCordova Museum showed my work in 2008 & 2009.
A suite of my etchings was featured in a 2009 edition of the Finnish arts magazine, BRIO CELL, LINGUA BLANCA, GLOSSOLALIA. Photographs have won awards in the 2012 Exotic Images Invitational. I have shown photographs by invitation in AwardTree, & in Black & White Art Awards, 2012. I exhibited an etching in a 2013 Center for Contemporary Printmaking (CCP) juried show, Norwalk, Conn.
In March 2014 one of my works--a monotype on paper--won 2nd place in a juried show at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking (CCP), Norwalk, Conn. In July 2014 three of my works were accepted in the juried show, "Transferring Ink 3," at the Fallbrook Arts Center, Fallbrook, Calif.--one of the three works won an award. I had a work shown in the September 2014 Pendle Print Biennial (Pendle Heritage Centre Gallery), Barrowford, England.
A number of my paintings were exhibited in Salzburg, Austria in November 2015, at the opening of Velvenoir Gallery. In early June 2015, my works were displayed through Velvenoir at the annual show, ARTMUC, in Munich, Germany.
In the last several years I have been represented by Velvenoir Gallery in Salzburg, as well as The Cult House Gallery in London, England.
